The Imperial Presidency

Donald Trump, Joe Biden, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton. The list of imperial presidencies is not a partisan game. But where did the imperial presidency begin? What made it possible? And what presidents are most responsible for its creation? The President, of course, could not create the imperial presidency without a complicit Congress, but they could drive the agenda. This course explores some of the speeches and public executive documents that established the "imperial presidency."
