The Anti-Federalists were ultimately proven correct about the true nature of the central government under the new Constitution, but in 1787 and 1788, they were consistently refuted by proponents of the Constitution concerning the powers of the States, "federalism", the presidency, the Supreme Court, and a host of other issues.
